Hey everyone,
Coming to you live from Austin, Texas. Here is your weekly dose of Arman’s Antics, a list of what I’m writing, reading, listening to etc. This is becoming a big deal. Never want to experience the horrible feeling of FOMO ever again? ⬇️
Welcome to the lone brave soul who joined the tribe this week (176 total). I don’t take your time, and more importantly, your attention lightly.
A special thank you to my friend and subscriber Cydne F. who became the first person to pledge financial support to my writing. What an unexpected surprise.
My partner has been asking me when this whole writing thing was going to start paying the bills. Well hun, ask no more!
"I really want to support you because I feel like there's so much value in what you share and it really resonates with me. You are an old soul. :) Thank you for all that you do to make this world a better place. Take care! Keep up the Antics! :) "
Essay I wrote last week
The most ridiculous question of all-time (#040). You’ve heard it so many times that it has lost all meaning. What would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail? Well, that’s easy. I’d do everything. Not helpful.
Seth Godin opened my mind to a new version of this age-old question. Click this link to find out how to make the question 7 times more useful.
Book I’m rereading
Stop Fixing Yourself: Wake Up, All Is Well by Anthony de Mello. I’m basically always reading something by him.
The book is a collection of his wisdom pieced together from the countless talks he gave to attentive crowds in India and America.
I purposely go slow by limiting myself to just a page or two each day. The wisdom per page often forces me to put the book down and have a good think.
I’ve come to believe the faster you read a book the worse it is. A great one should be savored.
From the back cover, “People ask me, what do I need to do to change myself? If you’re one of those people, I’ve got a big surprise for you! You don’t have to do anything.”
What I’m listening to
Every single Alex Hormozi podcast episode I can get my greedy little hands on.
He distills timeless business wisdom into simple-to-comprehend language. It’s useful for those just starting out all the way to seasoned entrepreneurs.
It boggles my mind with just how much rock-solid 🪨business knowledge he has accumulated in the short amount of years he’s had.
Course I completed
CopyThat by Sam Parr. A course on copywriting.
I’ve become fascinated with the power of the written word. And copywriting is the ability to transfer knowledge from one brain to another through writing.
It has improved my ability to communicate in my day job and has (hopefully) made my writing more intriguing to you by getting you to fall down the slippery slope. A copywriting term meant to grab the reader with the title which intrigues them to read the first sentence. Then the second sentence. Then the third sentence. All the way down to the end🛝.
The best compliment a writer can receive is that the reader couldn’t put it down. That’s a sign of good copy, aka writing.
I would give the course 4⭐️. Definitely worth checking out.
Website I’m refreshing constantly

Random thought
The store Ross exists just to make the crap at Marshalls seem buyable.
That’s it for this 22nd edition of Arman’s Antics. Thank you for being here. Keep an eye out for essay #041 dropping on Thursday.
A terrific Tuesday to you and yours!
Cheers,
Arman

"I’ve come to believe the faster you read a book the worse it is. A great one should be savored." -- I couldn't agree more (wrote a whole essay on that a while back). Great issue, Arman, as always, and congrats on your first paid subscriber! :)
I'm going to have to go find that book by Anthony de Mello. Same cultural background. So I'm intrigued.
