"And before that, my introverted grandfather would sit down at his desk and respond for hours to handwritten letters he’d received from family still stuck in Iran." What a beautiful snapshot. As introverts we get pulled out and engaged by things that matter.
Thank you Rick. My grandfather was one of the lucky ones who got out and he never forgot where he came from. So he always did what he could to stay in touch and help out.
Man, you described my personality better than Myers-Briggs test.
Although my older family members have historically been physically social, it seems like they’ve become more internet social.
They don’t talk on the phone as long or go to events as much, but they’re scrolling through FB. It’s almost as if they were social introverts all along haha
Haha I love to hear that Marcus. I think that's been the trend for even the most extroverted of extroverts out there. Maybe that's the curse of the internet.
I appreciate this a lot. I've been forced inward by circumstance, previously a hypersocial person who even though founded a digitally based company only became a true digital native when getting long Covid- my world got small and yet also unbelievably larger, it's the strangest sensation, also no boring conversations of sense of dullness lookinb for the door, just always learning...,nice to meet you
Im sorry to hear you got sick. Hope you are doing better now! I think the internet is a great tool to be social when we want to be but doesnt force us to always be on. Pleasure to meet you!
It’s strange, but it’s also, weirdly, comforting, this ability to connect and socialise without having to step out of the house all the time. I also like that snapshot of your grandfather responding to letters -- interesting to see all of us introverted socialites through time!
Yes I agree Shinjini. Before the internet, us introverts had to put on a smiling face and go out into the world even when we didn't want to or else we'd have little ability to interact with others. Now, that's changed (for the better I think)!

Haha I really resonate with the term Introverted Socialite. My first gamer tag was joeschmo13 (not much better).
If you're not embarrassed by your first username then you didn't truly live.
