I would add most to my personal list, but I am wealthy in livestock. Milk pets check many boxes, and I sleep good every night!

that's wonderful Melissa. I wish I had livestock but I've just got a dog for now :) a good night's sleep is the ultimate sign of wealth!

Some of these made me chuckle, and I have most of them now. I am wealthy because II don't have to worry about meeting a meal budget, I live on a ridiculously quiet street, I get kisses every day, I can afford my Doctor's visits. All these weren't true at one time.

glad you enjoyed them Dawn! it really is the little things that bring us the most joy isn't it?

Love how this list lowkey reads like a monk’s cheat code wrapped in millennial sarcasm. “No pear-shaped boss” and “no books from the NYT bestseller list” had me cackling, but “no disharmony between your words and actions” hit straight in the sternum.

Would humbly add:

No calendar so jammed you need to “circle back.”

No spending your weekend recovering from the week.

No mattress that ruins your spine.

Also — still working on a few of these myself. But the audit was needed. Subscribed not just to the newsletter but to the philosophy.

a monk's cheat code wrapped in millennial sarcasm might need to be my new headline lol! that's awesome.

Hell yes to all three of your amendments. Especially the weekend recovery one. Great adds!

My favorites from your list.

No news. Not ever.

No networking events.

No crippling need to impress strangers.

No disharmony between your words and actions.

No blind faith in any product that’s highly advertised.

No books from the New York Times bestseller list.

No prejudice of a country without going there.

No rejecting a belief without putting yourself in the believer’s shoes.

Shoot. I've racked my brain trying to add something useful to that list, but you covered so much good ground. If I think of something, I'll be back. :)

Thank you! Wealth can be so much more than what most people think it is. What would you add to your list?

1. having a brain to allow freedom to think

2. Being able to critically think!

3. being able to make decisions.

4. healthy to take care of myself.

5. The rest of the list is based on those principles

So surprised that "no AI' didn't make it onto your list. It's the first one I've got crossed off on mine.

I'm still torn with AI. I know there's going to be no escaping it eventually. But I'm still hesitant to hop on the bandwagon. I'll probably seem like the horse carriage drivers who laughed at cars...

Yes, I know, I’m in the same boat. But I feel like it’s a worthwhile experiment that at least a few humans need to undertake which is to resist as long as possible and see how far we can go. I have built a successful online business that is thriving without a single line of content being produced by AI. Would love to keep that going as long as possible.

Amazing list, love it. We massively overestimate the degree to which more money would improve our lives. The best stuff in life is free or very cheap.

And once you pass a relatively low bar of income, more money ain’t gonna make you more happy… but cutting the bad from your life while adding walks, workouts, music, love, cooking, kindness, nature, and community will make your days bliss.
