Hey everyone,
Coming to you live from Austin, Texas. Here is your weekly dose of Arman’s Antics, a list of what I’m discovering and questioning. Please feel free to share this with someone you think would like my style. All you have to do is click the appropriate button below.
Welcome to the two new subscribers receiving this for the first time (175 total). Thank you for sharing one of your most precious assets with me (personal email). I promise to respect it by only sending you something I would like to receive.
New essay I wrote last week
Productive procrastination. I wasted five years of my life. So you don’t have to.
That’s been the greatest joy from writing so far. It sounds lame, but even if one person can avoid making the same stupid mistakes I made after reading something I wrote, it was worth it. Seriously.
Spoiler: you don’t need a three hour, 17-step morning routine. Trust me, I tried it. Check it out if you feel like a slave to your habits.
What I’m reading
$100M Offers. By Alex Hormozi. I could go on and on about how great this book is…
Or I could tell you how I think every business person in the world would do better business by reading it. Or I could tell you how I’m already applying the tactics in my day job and seeing tremendous results. Or I could tell you it’s the first in a ten book series that will be the bible blueprint for every entrepreneur. Or I could tell you it only takes a few hours to finish. But I won’t. I’ll let the 12,000+ five star Amazon reviews do that.
And for my fellow cheapskates out there - he’s charging 0.99 cents because that’s the cheapest price Amazon will allow. He doesn’t need your book sales money. He’s already built four 8-figure businesses (aka doing $10M+ per year) so he didn’t write this for the money.
These are the people I like to learn from. Those who have learned in the trenches. No matter what the field. Not some tenured professor who has memorized a bunch of theories.
Podcast episode I’m listening to
Derek Sivers on The Pathless Path with Paul Millerd. An absolute banger, per usual.
If you’ve yet to discover Derek, my condolences. Every time I listen to him speak or read his writing, I have to take a step back. He's got a dumpster truck full of counterintuitive ways of looking at the world. He questions the unquestioned beliefs so many of us cling to. And so does Paul.
is his substack which includes some fascinating thoughts on our unquestioned relationship with work and life.If you’ve ever woke up one morning and thought, “Why am I living like this?” then you’ll enjoy this conversation.
Editors wanted
The online writing course Write of Passage taught me the power of editing. And not just self-editing, but the importance of getting another pair of eyes on it as well.
Michael Dean is the Editor-in-Chief at Write of Passage and he has some great thoughts on the subject. His substack is
and here's one of his recent essays on the power of rewriting. All that to say I need your help. My last 3 essays have not had the pleasure of receiving any ruthless edits other than my own. And I believe my writing has suffered because of that.
I’m looking for two or three editors. So please hit reply to this email and let me know if you’d be open to edit some of my future essays. It would mean the world to me. And I’ll return the favor of course to any fellow writers in need of an editing buddy.
Random thought
I just bought life insurance and now I’m actually kinda excited to die in a nonsuicidal kind of way.
That’s it for the 24th edition of Arman’s Antics. You could be doing so many other things but you chose to be here with me. A sincere thank you.
Maybe the essay coming out this Thursday will be better than the last few with the help of some newfound editor amigos 😇
A terrific Tuesday to you and yours!
Cheers,
Arman
PS - I don’t run any ads (you’re welcome). Plus, I still haven’t been on social media for a while. So really, the only way this spreads is through word of mouth. If you’ve gotten something valuable from my writing, then consider passing it on. If not, then at least make sure you’re subscribed for when that time comes.
Thanks for the kind words!
Ok you finally got me hooked on Alex Hormozi. Reading his book now. You were right about him. Thanks!
