Haha we eventually turned the A/C off and drove through the 100 degree heat with the windows down because that was cooler somehow. Thank you Eric. I hope to live up to the new name. Let me know what you think of that episode!
Absolutely. I love having my beliefs shattered by someone who takes a risk to go against the mainstream. And I love how RFKJ repeatedly said, "I'm not asking you to take my word for anything."
...some good stairs tips hidden in here (https://wagwalking.com/training/use-stairs) ...never had that issue but with other phobias I have found that treats/care and practice is the best approach with getting the doggos over it...if you ever need to teach a dog to swim find a not fast river with a small crossing and swim to the other side with treats...make it a game with a reward and over time they learn to love it...but doesn't work with every dog...good luck!!
Thank you my friend. Unfortunately that link isn't working for me. I read a bit of "Don't shoot the dog" and it helped me realize that animals respond much better to rewards than punishments. But I've started trying a few things and will report back.
I've had Ryan Holiday's book sitting on my shelf for years. Great reminder to pick this up and get into it. Re your poor dog Xena that's a perplexing dilemma. But what is clear is that continuing to stair at her won't fix the problem.
That entire trilogy of his is worth reading. If you like The Obstacle then check out Ego is the enemy and Stillness is the key afterwards. Haha I have daily conversations with her trying to convince her that stairs won't kill her but she looks at me like I'm a big fat liar.
Driving in heat without a/c? You're brave! I would have drowned in sweat!
Love the new name. It sums up your writing style and ideas! And what better way to begin than with that JRE episode!

That episode of JRE should be mandatory listening for everyone.

Fixed the link :)
Stubbornly staying put in your clan, Armand. Because these are the conversations I want to listen to, the debates i want to have
What was your phrase? More curious, less furious.
It's a pleasure to have you stick around Karena. Yes! We could all use a little more curiosity and a little less furiosity (if that's a word).

Oh wow, didn't know that was a Trilogy. Will check it out.
Oh wow thank you Nadia. I will dig into this and report back if anything helps!
